One morning, she sat very still in a patch of sun and decided to listen. First, she heard the whoosh of the wind telling stories to the tall grass. Then, she heard the buzz-buzz-buzzle of a fuzzy bee visiting a purple flower. She tilted her head and heard the tap-tap-tapping of a woodpecker high in a tree. And then she heard her favourite sound of all: the thump-thump-thump of her papa’s feet, coming to bring her a crunchy breakfast carrot.
