Coloring page story
Every year, Priya's family made a long chain of marigolds for the door to welcome everyone for the festival of lights.
Priya was finally old enough to help. Her mother showed her how to thread a needle through the puffy base of the flower. Poke. Pull.
Priya tried. But her flower fell off. She tried again. Poke. Plop. It fell off again.
"I can't do it," she said, her lip trembling.
Her big brother, Rohan, sat next to her. He didn't say, "It's easy." Instead, he said, "My first ten flowers fell off. Let's make them fall off together."
[Interactive Element: Pretend to thread a flower and say "Plop!" when it falls.]
Twist: They had a race to see who could make their flower fall off the fastest. They laughed so hard. After playing the "falling flower" game, Priya wasn't scared of messing up anymore. She took a deep breath, and on her next try, the flower stayed on the string. Poke. Pull. It stayed!
Together, she and Rohan made the most beautiful part of the marigold chain.
Coloring page Age Appropriateness
The 'Joyful Theme Cartoon' style is fantastic for ages 3-5 because it clearly and simply conveys the happy emotion of the story's resolution. The exaggerated, joyful expressions are easy for children to read and relate to. The task of coloring the big pile of round marigold flowers is satisfying and helps with practicing circular motions. The image celebrates success after a struggle in a very positive and fun way.
