Coloring page story

Elara was one of Santa’s best toy-painting elves. Today, she was painting a bright, shiny fire truck. She painted the wheels black and the ladder silver. It was time for the big, red body of the truck, but when she opened her pot of red paint, it was empty!

"Oh, sprinkles and snowflakes!" she cried. There was no time to mix more.

She scurried to Mrs. Claus’s greenhouse. There, hanging on a little bush, were the most beautiful, juicy, ruby-red winter-berries. With a tiny bit of magic and a gentle squeeze, Elara made a drop of the most perfect red paint she had ever seen. She finished the fire truck just in time. It was the reddest, shiniest truck in the whole workshop, all thanks to a little bit of elf ingenuity and a magical Christmas berry.

Coloring page Age Appropriateness

The pixie/elf character is very appealing to young children. The objects (fire truck, paintbrush, berries) are drawn as simple, recognizable shapes with thick outlines, making it an easy and fun coloring challenge for children 3-5.

Coloring Page Coloring Instructions

Let's help Elara the elf paint the fire truck! You can color her hat and clothes in festive green and red. The fire truck needs to be a bright, shiny red, just like in the story! The magical berries that make the paint can also be a beautiful red. You're such a great helper in Santa's workshop!

Coloring Page Printing Tips

This page has a nice balance of small and large areas. Standard 8.5x11" paper is perfect. Print in black and white to get the best, crisp outlines for your little artist to work with.

Recommended Tools

A mix of tools would be fun here! Crayons for the elf's clothes and the workbench, and fine-tipped markers for the smaller details like the fire truck and the berries. This encourages kids to switch grips and builds motor skills.
