It was winter, and much too cold for a firefly. But Twinkle wasn't a normal firefly. She was a special Christmas firefly, and her light glowed with all the colours of the rainbow.

She flew through the quiet town on Christmas Eve and saw one house that was dark. Inside, a little girl was sad because their Christmas lights wouldn't work.

Twinkle buzzed her little wings and called to her friends. A hundred Christmas fireflies came flying! They swarmed around the dark tree in the little girl's window. One glowed red, one green, one blue, one yellow! They blinked and twinkled until the tree looked like it was covered in living jewels. The little girl clapped her hands with joy, and Twinkle knew she had delivered the best kind of light.
