Coloring page story
Chloe loved the Christmas tree farm, especially the big barn where Mrs. Gable sold the most delicious hot chocolate in the world. It was creamy and sweet and came with a mountain of tiny marshmallows. Today, Chloe was determined to feel grown-up and helpful.
But when she walked into the barn, there was chaos! A long line of shivering people looked disappointed, and Mrs. Gable was flapping her hands at a big, silver machine. Hiss... sputter... fizzle... The hot chocolate machine had broken.
"Oh, fiddlesticks!" Mrs. Gable cried, her face flushed. "It's gone completely cold!"
This was Chloe's chance. "I can help!" she said, in her most grown-up voice.
Mrs. Gable looked down, distracted. "Oh, that's sweet, dear, but this is a big job."
"I'm a very good stirrer," Chloe insisted. "And I'm an expert marshmallow-placer."
Mrs. Gable paused, then smiled. "You know what? I think you're just the helper I need." She pulled a huge pot onto an old-fashioned stove and poured in milk, cocoa, and sugar. She handed Chloe a long wooden spoon. "Stir slowly and steadily," she instructed. "Don't let it stick."
Chloe stood on a stool, gripping the spoon with both hands. She stirred and stirred. Swirl, swoosh, swirl. Her arm started to ache, but she didn't stop. She was on a mission. Soon, the delicious smell of chocolate filled the barn again.
When it was ready, Mrs. Gable ladled the steaming cocoa into cups, and Chloe's job got even more important: she was in charge of the marshmallows. Plink, plonk, plink. She made sure every single cup got a generous scoop.
A little boy took a sip and his eyes went wide. "It's even better than the machine!" he said.
Chloe's chest puffed with pride. She hadn't just watched—she had helped save the day. She learned that even if you're small, a little bit of help can make a very big, warm difference.
