Coloring page story

It was a very hot day. Dotty the Daisy felt droopy. Her stem was floppy and her petals were thirsty. "Oh, I wish I could have a drink," she sighed. The sun was very warm, and the ground was very dry.

Suddenly, a big, fluffy cloud floated overhead. Plink. Plonk. Plink. Raindrops began to fall! One big, giggly raindrop landed on Dotty’s top petal. "Whee!" shouted the raindrop.

Plot Twist: The raindrop slid all the way down the petal, like a waterslide! Woooosh! It went right to the middle and then trickled down the stem into the ground. "That tickles!" giggled Dotty, feeling much better. Soon, all the raindrops were playing on her petals, sliding down to give her a drink.

Coloring page Age Appropriateness

The design is exceptionally well-suited for ages 3-5. The use of simple, geometric shapes (circles for raindrops, a big fluffy cloud) is easy for young children to recognize and color. The personification of the cloud and raindrops makes the abstract concept of rain tangible and friendly.

Coloring Page Coloring Instructions

Oh look, Dotty the Daisy is getting a drink! Can you help the raindrops slide down? Let's color them a beautiful blue. The big, fluffy cloud can be white, or maybe you want to make it a stormy grey? Dotty is so happy for the water, you can give her bright, happy colors. Make sure her face is a sunny yellow!

Coloring Page Printing Tips

To make the raindrops feel extra special, try printing on glossy photo paper. The shiny surface will make the colors pop. Ensure your printer settings are adjusted for the paper type to avoid smudging and to get the crispest outlines for your daisies.

Recommended Tools

Finger paints could be a wonderfully tactile way to color the large raindrops! For a less messy option, jumbo crayons or paint sticks provide great coverage with minimal effort for small hands. This page is all about big, simple shapes, so go with a tool that fills them in easily.
