Coloring page story

“What was that?” Lily asked, wiping a speck of purple glitter from her nose.

Santa sighed, his big shoulders slumping. “That, my dear Lily, is the Glimmer-flu. All my elves have it. It’s a magical cold.” He led her to the workshop door. Inside, it was chaos!

Elves in pointy hats were not hammering or painting. One elf tried to wrap a gift but hiccupped, and a jingle-jangle! sound came out. “Hic-JINGLE!” Another elf sneezed a rainbow of glitter all over a teddy bear. “Ah-ah-Sparkle-SHOO!” The workshop, usually a place of happy hums and busy taps, was filled with sneezes, jingles, and sad little moans.

“We’ll never be ready for Christmas,” sniffled a small elf named Pip, his nose as red as a cherry. “My head feels full of fizz-wizz.”

Lily looked at the mess. Toys were scattered, ribbons were tangled, and glitter covered everything. She felt a little sad for them. She wasn't a magical elf, but she knew how to tidy her room. “Maybe,” she said softly, “we could start by putting things in piles?”

Santa’s eyes twinkled. “A splendid idea! A place for everything, and everything in its place!”

Lily pointed. “We can put all the wooden blocks here, and all the dolls in that basket.” Pip the elf, despite his jingle-hiccups, managed a small smile. Lily started to sort, and Santa joined in. It was a tiny start, but for the first time that day, a little bit of order began to return to the workshop.

Coloring page Age Appropriateness

The Chibi style with large heads and eyes is highly appealing to young children (3-5). The simple shapes of the toys and characters lack complex details, making it easy for small hands to color within the lines. The theme of tidying up is also relatable and easy to understand.

Coloring Page Coloring Instructions

Coloring Page Printing Tips

Print this page in 'portrait' orientation. Using regular copy paper is fine for crayons and colored pencils. If your little artist loves markers, try a slightly heavier paper to make the colors pop without soaking through.

Recommended Tools

Washable markers are fantastic for filling in the large, simple shapes of the Chibi characters. Twistable crayons are also a great no-mess option for this age group, as they don't require sharpening and are less likely to break.
