Coloring page story
Lily the Lamb loved flowers more than anything. One morning, she found a beautiful tulip, perfectly outlined. Its petals were all marked with “5” for a lovely pink. She happily tapped each one with her pink crayon. Pop! Pop! Pop!
But then she looked down. The stem of the flower was just a white line. There was no number on it at all! “Oh, no!” she bleated softly. “How will my flower stand up straight and tall without a green stem?”
Her shoulders slumped. A flower without a stem was just a floating pink cup. She saw her friend, Barnaby the Bear, shuffling by. “Barnaby,” she whispered, her voice wobbly. “My flower is broken.”
Barnaby peered closely. "It's not broken, Lily. It's a mystery! The number must be hiding." He put on his most serious thinking face. “Let’s be detectives!”
They looked under a nearby leaf. No number. They peeked behind a pebble. No number. Lily was about to give up when Barnaby noticed something. A little ant was marching along the white stem, carrying something tiny and green on its back. It was a little sign with a “3” on it!
“The number!” they both shouted. The ant had been moving it to a sunnier spot. Lily gently took the sign and placed it on the stem. She took out her “3” crayon and tapped it. Zing! A perfect, strong green stem appeared, holding the pink tulip up to the sky.
Lily hugged Barnaby. "Thank you, Detective Barnaby!" The mystery was solved, and her flower was the most beautiful in the whole meadow, all because they didn't give up.

Coloring Page Printing Tips

Recommended Tools
Colored pencils are great for this page as they allow for more precision when coloring the smaller ant. However, twistable crayons are also fantastic because they don't need sharpening and their tips are good for medium-sized areas like the characters. Always choose non-toxic options for safety.
