Coloring page story

Barnaby the Bear found a big, red, bouncy ball. "Mine!" he growled, hugging it tight. Just then, his friend Bella came along. "Can I play?" she asked, her ears drooping a little. "No, it's mine!" Barnaby hugged it tighter. He tried to bounce it, but his arms were too full. He tried to roll it, but he kept tripping over it. He felt a grumpy, fizzy feeling in his tummy.

Bella sat on a log, looking sad. A single tear rolled down her fuzzy cheek. Barnaby saw the tear, and his grumpy feeling felt... wobbly. He didn't like seeing Bella sad.

Twist: He looked at the big ball, then at his two big bear arms. He had an idea. "Bella," he said softly. "Maybe... maybe the ball needs a two-bear hug to play right."

Bella's ears perked up. She came over, and they both put their arms around the ball. Together, they could lift it high! BOUNCE! BOUNCE! BOUNCE! It was more fun than a one-bear hug.

Coloring page Age Appropriateness

This line art design is perfect for ages 3-5. The large, simple shapes of the bears and the ball are easy for small hands to color. The clear, bold outlines help develop fine motor control. The social emotional theme of sharing is highly relevant to this age group's developmental stage, making the scene relatable and educational.

Coloring Page Coloring Instructions

Hello, little artist! Look at our friends Barnaby and Bella. They learned how to share! Can you see the big, round ball they are playing with? You can make it any color you want! Maybe a rainbow ball? Use your favorite crayons to give the bears warm, friendly colors. Remember to try and keep your beautiful colors inside the nice, thick black lines. Coloring them happy will help us remember how good it feels to share.

Coloring Page Printing Tips

For the best coloring experience, print this line art page on sturdy paper, like cardstock, which can handle enthusiastic coloring with crayons or markers. Use your printer's 'high quality' or 'photo' setting to ensure the black outline strokes are crisp and clear. A clear outline helps your child practice staying in the lines, enhancing the social emotional lesson of gentle focus.

Recommended Tools

Chunky crayons or large, washable markers are ideal for little hands aged 3-5. They provide good color payoff with less pressure. Colored pencils are great for older children in this age range who are developing finer motor control. Always supervise use of art supplies, and remember, the goal is to have fun exploring feelings and colors within the outlined shapes!
