Coloring page story

Santa loves cookies. At the first house, he found a crunchy gingerbread man. Munch, crunch. Delicious! At the next house, he found a soft, chewy chocolate chip cookie. Nom, nom. Wonderful!

At house after house, there were more and more cookies. Sugar cookies with sprinkles, oatmeal cookies with raisins, and even a cookie shaped like his own face!

"Ho ho ho!" he laughed, his belly growing rounder and rounder. "I am a very full Santa!"

At the very last house, he saw one tiny carrot left for the reindeer and one little shortbread cookie left for him. He took a tiny nibble. "Always room for one more taste of kindness," he whispered, before patting his very full tummy and flying back home.

Coloring page Age Appropriateness

The humorous, exaggerated depiction of a 'full' Santa is easily understood and funny to a 3-5 year old. The use of simple, recognizable shapes (circles, stars, people) for the cookies makes it an excellent page for shape and object recognition practice.

Coloring Page Coloring Instructions

Oh my, Santa ate so many cookies! He looks very happy, doesn't he? Let's color his big, round tummy. His suit can be a bright red! And look at all the yummy cookies. You can make the chocolate chip cookie brown, and you can decorate the star cookie with yellow or orange. What color will your gingerbread man be?

Coloring Page Printing Tips

This is a great page to print on standard paper. Since the shapes are so simple, you could even print it at a slightly larger scale (e.g., 'fit to page' on A4/Letter) to give your child even bigger areas to color and enjoy.

Recommended Tools

Washable dot markers would be incredibly fun for decorating the cookies on this page! For the larger areas, thick crayons or large washable markers are ideal. This page is all about fun, so feel free to let your child experiment with different tools.
