Coloring page story

Daniel Tiger was playing with his favorite toy, Trolley. “Ding, ding!” went Daniel, pushing Trolley across the floor. He pushed it faster and faster! VROOOM! Trolley zoomed under the table. But—oh no!—it went too fast and bumped right into Mom Tiger’s leg.

“Ouch, Daniel,” Mom said gently. “That was a little too fast.”

Daniel’s ears flopped down. He didn’t mean to bump Mom. He felt sad and worried. His face felt scrunchy.

Mom Tiger knelt down. “It’s okay, Daniel. Sometimes we get excited and go too fast. When you’re playing, it helps to look where you’re going.” She sang a little song: “When you zoom and race and play, look ahead to clear the way!”

Interactive Element: Can you look all around you right now? What do you see?

Daniel looked. He saw the table leg and Mom’s slippers. He tried again, pushing Trolley slowly. “Ding… ding…” He looked ahead and steered Trolley carefully around the chair. He didn’t bump a thing! He felt proud. “I did it!” he roared softly. He gave his mom a big Ugga Mugga.

Coloring page Age Appropriateness

This design is ideal for ages 3-5. The characters and objects are rendered in a simple, recognizable 'Picture Book Style' with thick outlines, minimizing frustration. The large, open areas of Daniel's sweater, Trolley, and the floor are perfect for the developing motor skills of this age group. The theme of learning to play safely is a core Daniel Tiger concept that resonates with preschoolers.
