Coloring page story

Daniel was at O the Owl’s house. O was showing Daniel his favorite blue feather. It was soft and smooth. Suddenly, a big gust of wind blew through the open window! WHOOSH! The feather flew out of O’s wing and fluttered away.

“Hoo, hoo! My feather!” cried O. He looked everywhere, under his books and behind his chair. It was gone. He felt so, so sad.

Daniel felt sad for his friend. He wanted to help. He remembered what Dad Tiger said: “When a friend is sad and feeling low, helping them is the way to go.”

Daniel said, “Don’t worry, O! I’ll be a super detective!”

Interactive Element: Let’s be detectives! Put on your pretend detective hat and look around the room for something blue.

Daniel looked outside the window. He saw something blue stuck in a bush! “O, look!” It was the feather! O the Owl was so happy, he gave Daniel a big “Hoo, hoo” hug.

Coloring page Age Appropriateness

The 'Anthropomorphic Cartoon' style is the essence of Daniel Tiger's world and is immediately recognizable to a 3-5 year old. The composition clearly tells the story: Daniel the helper, the lost feather, and O's happiness. The shapes (window frame, bush, characters) are large and uncluttered, supporting successful coloring for small hands.

Coloring Page Coloring Instructions

You're a super detective, just like Daniel! Can you find the lost feather in the picture? There it is! Let's give it a beautiful color. O the Owl loves the color blue, but you can make it any color you like. Don't forget to color our happy friends, Daniel and O. You helped them solve the mystery!

Coloring Page Printing Tips

Use a 'fit to page' setting on your printer to ensure the entire charming scene is captured. Printing on slightly thicker paper will give the final colored artwork a sturdy, high-quality feel, making the child feel like a real artist. This Daniel Tiger scene is perfect for display!

Recommended Tools

Colored pencils are great for coloring the smaller feather details. Washable markers can fill in the large areas of the characters and the bush. For a fun effect, a grown-up can help add a little glitter glue to the feather after coloring to make it extra special.
