Coloring page story

The Star-Hopper landed. THUMP! The planet was very, very quiet. All the flower-people were asleep. "We need to deliver their wake-up song!" said Cora. Pip tried to sing, but his voice was too small. squeak, squeak. Boffo tried to sing, but his voice was too low. rumble, rumble. "Crewmates, let's make music together!" said Cora. Boffo went BUM, BUM, BUM on a drum. Pip went TING, TING, TING on a triangle. Cora went DOO, DEE, DOO on her flute. The sound was beautiful! The flower-people woke up and danced. Interactive Action: Can you clap your hands to the beat? BUM, TING, CLAP!

Coloring page Age Appropriateness

The design is excellent for 3-5 year olds. The concept of making music is universally appealing. Each character has one simple instrument, making the scene easy to interpret. The large, personified flowers offer big, simple shapes that are fun and easy for preschoolers to color.

It's a concert on a new planet! Let's give the band some amazing colors. Cora's flute can be shiny silver or gold. Boffo's drum can be any color you like! And look at all the flowers! You can make each one a different color, like a beautiful rainbow garden waking up to the crewmate's song. Happy coloring!

Coloring Page Printing Tips

This page has many fun elements. Print it on a large sheet of paper if possible, to give your child more room to color each individual flower. Standard printer paper works well, but a slightly heavier stock will feel more like a special piece of art. Make sure the 'fit to page' option is selected to avoid cutting off any of the cute flower-people!

Recommended Tools

A set of watercolor paints could be magical for this page, allowing children to blend colors for the flower petals. For a less messy option, glitter glue pens would be perfect for adding sparkle to the instruments or the center of the flowers after coloring. And of course, crayons are always a wonderful, classic choice for the whole crewmate scene.
