She stood on the stage for one last practice, ready to sing her heart out. Cora gave the signal. The music started. Velo opened her mouth to sing, "Get your feet a-ready for the... for the..." Her mind went blank. The words were gone! She tried again. "Get your feet a-ready for the... uh... thing!" Panic fluttered in her chest. She, the clever Velo, had forgotten the most important song! She looked at her friends, her eyes wide with worry. "I can't remember!" she whispered, her voice trembling. Her friends didn't laugh. Spike the Stegosaurus started a soft, steady beat on his back plates. Tap... tap... tap... Perry the Parasaurolophus played a gentle, encouraging toot from behind his fern. Toot-le-tooo. Rexy gave her a big, gummy smile and wiggled his little arms. Seeing her friends supporting her made Velo take a deep breath. The gentle rhythm helped her think. And then it came to her! "The Stompy-Stomp-Stomp!" she sang out, louder and happier than ever. She learned that even when you feel stuck, your friends are there to give you the beat until you find your words again.
