Coloring page story
On a hill, there stood a peach tree. Its leaves were droopy and its little green peaches looked sad. "Oh, I am so thirsty," the tree sighed to a passing butterfly. "The sun is too hot, and the clouds are far away."
The butterfly saw the droopy leaves and felt sad for the tree. It flew up, up, up to a fluffy white cloud. "Cloud! Cloud!" buzzed the butterfly. "The peach tree is thirsty! Its peaches won't get fuzzy and sweet without you!"
The cloud looked down and saw the sad tree. "I am just one little cloud," it puffed. "I don't have enough rain."
✨ Unexpected Twist: The butterfly didn't give up. It flew to another cloud, and another, and another! "Let's help together!" it buzzed. The little clouds gathered, forming one big, grey raincloud. They all worked together and rained down on the tree. Pitter-patter, drip-drop!
The tree drank and drank. Its leaves perked up, and its peaches started to blush with a fuzzy, pink color.
Coloring page Age Appropriateness
This scene provides a variety of simple, satisfying shapes to color: a large tree trunk, individual leaves, round peaches, and fluffy clouds. This variety keeps a 3-5 year old engaged. The personified, smiling elements (tree, clouds) make the nature theme friendly and accessible.
Coloring Page Coloring Instructions
The peach tree is so happy to get a drink! Let's give it a nice brown trunk and happy green leaves. The little peaches can be peachy-orange, yellow, and pink. What color are rain clouds? You can make them white, gray, or even light blue! Don't forget the helpful little butterfly – it can be any beautiful color you can imagine!
Coloring Page Printing Tips
To make the rain really stand out, you can provide blue glitter glue for your child to trace over the rain lines after they've finished coloring the rest of the peach fruit scene. Print on cardstock to hold the extra weight and prevent warping.
Recommended Tools
A mix of tools would be fun here! Crayons for the tree and leaves, and markers for the bright peaches and butterfly. Using a light blue colored pencil for the rain can create a soft, gentle effect. This is a great coloring page to experiment with different tools.
