Poppy was a very clever groundhog. "I don't like it when the sun is in my eyes," she told her teddy bear. "And I don't want to be scared by my shadow."
So, she found two big, round leaves and put them over her eyes. They were her sunglasses!
When it was time, she bravely climbed out of her burrow, wearing her leafy sunglasses. She looked around. The sun was bright, but it didn't bother her eyes! She looked down. She couldn't see her shadow at all!
"No shadow!" she declared. "Spring is here!" She took off her sunglasses and did a twirl, ready to play.
