Coloring page story
Walter the Groundhog wanted to sleep forever. But his neighbors, a chattering squirrel and a tapping woodpecker, had other plans.
TAP! TAP! TAP! went the woodpecker on the tree root above his ceiling. Squeak-squeak-chatter! went the squirrel at his front door.
"WAKE UP, WALTER!" they shouted. "It's the big day!"
Walter put his paws over his ears. Grumpily, he crawled to the entrance. It was a cloudy, grey day. There was no sun and no shadow.
"Fine! I'm up!" he said. "Are you happy now? It's going to be an early spring." The squirrel and the woodpecker did a happy dance. Walter just sighed and went to find some breakfast.
