Coloring page story

Barnaby Bear had a big, round scoop of strawberry ice cream. It was his favourite July treat. The sun was warm, and a little drip of pink went plip onto his paw.

"Oh, dear!" said Barnaby. He licked it up. Slurp. Another drip went plop onto his nose. "Goodness me!" He licked that up, too. Slurp, slurp.

The ice cream was melting fast! Drip, drop, plip, plop. Barnaby knew just what to do. He opened his mouth wide and took a big, yummy bite. CHOMP. He ate it all up before any more could escape. And that, he decided, was the best way to enjoy a drippy July treat.

Coloring page Age Appropriateness

This design is ideal for ages 3-5 due to its simple, recognizable shapes (bear, sun, ice cream), large, uncluttered coloring areas, and thick, bold lines that help children stay within the lines.

Coloring Page Coloring Instructions

Hello, little artist! Look at happy Barnaby Bear. What color do you think his yummy ice cream is? Maybe it's pink like strawberry, or brown like chocolate! You can make the sun super bright and yellow, and the grass a lovely green. Don't forget to give Barnaby a nice, warm color for his fur.

Coloring Page Printing Tips

For best results, print this page on medium-weight cardstock to prevent markers from bleeding through. Use your printer's standard or 'normal' quality setting for crisp, clear lines. Let the ink dry for a moment before giving it to your little one.

Recommended Tools

Chunky crayons or large, washable markers are perfect for this age group as they are easy to grip. Colored pencils can also be used for children practicing a finer grip. Always supervise use and choose non-toxic materials.
