Coloring page story

In a little pot on the windowsill sat a little tomato plant named Rosie. All through July, she had been growing tiny green tomatoes. But today, the sun was very strong, and Rosie felt very, very thirsty. Her leaves started to droop.

"Oh, I'm so droopy," she sighed.

Just then, a little girl named Ava came by with her small, green watering can. Tinkle, tinkle, splash. She gave Rosie a long, cool drink. Rosie's roots slurped it all up.

Soon, her leaves perked up straight and strong again. "Thank you, Ava!" she rustled happily, knowing she now had enough water to help her little green tomatoes turn bright red in the July sun.

Coloring page Age Appropriateness

The cause-and-effect story (thirsty plant gets water and is happy) is simple for a 3-5 year old to grasp. The distinct, large shapes of the pot, plant, tomatoes, and watering can are ideal for developing motor skills.
