Sammy Squirrel and his family were having a picnic on a red-checked blanket. It was a perfect July day. Mama Squirrel had packed acorn sandwiches and one big, juicy strawberry.

That strawberry was for everyone to share. But just as Papa Squirrel was about to slice it, a sudden whoosh of wind blew the blanket! The big strawberry rolled away. Tumble, tumble, bump. It disappeared into a patch of clover.

"Oh no!" cried Sammy. He scurried over and peeked under the leaves. And there it was, resting next to a sleepy ladybug. Sammy carefully carried the strawberry back to the blanket, and everyone agreed it was the most adventurous, and sweetest, strawberry they had ever tasted.
