Barnaby Bear was a gentle bear with soft, brown fur and an even softer heart. He loved things to be just right, which sometimes made him worry. One rainy morning, Barnaby found a new paint-by-number set. It was a picture of a big, beautiful sunflower. "Oh, lovely!" he rumbled. He set out his pots: Number 1 was Brown for the center, Number 2 was Green for the stem, and Number 3 was a bright, happy Yellow for the petals. He carefully dipped his brush into Number 3. But the little yellow pot began to wobble. Wibble-wobble, wibble-wobble. "Hold still, you silly pot!" Barnaby chuckled. But the pot wobbled right off the table! SPLAT! A big, wobbly puddle of yellow paint landed on his clean floor. "Oh, no!" Barnaby’s ears drooped. "My perfect sunflower! It's ruined!" He looked at the big yellow splat, and a tear rolled down his furry cheek. It wasn’t perfect anymore. He sat with a heavy thump and let out a big bear sigh. Just then, his mama came in. "What's this, Barnaby?" she asked, seeing the splat. "A wobbly sun-puddle?" Barnaby pointed a sad paw at the mess. His mama smiled gently. She took his brush, dipped it in the green paint, and drew a long, curly stem from the splat up his paper. Then she dipped in the brown and added a fuzzy center. "You see, Barnaby," she said softly, "Sometimes a little wobble makes a whole new kind of flower." Barnaby looked. The splat wasn't a mistake anymore. It was a bouncy, funny, one-of-a-kind sun-puddle flower. He giggled, picked up his brush, and painted happy little leaves all the way up the stem.
