Coloring page story

Pip was a very curious kitten. Her whiskers twitched with questions all day long. What’s under the rug? What does a rainbow taste like? What's inside this box? One day, Pip found a paint-by-number canvas that had no picture on the box. It was just a white space filled with numbers. "A mystery!" she purred with delight. Her motivation was clear: she had to find out what the picture was. She started with Number 1, a fishy-smelling silver. Brush, brush, brush. It looked like a long, shiny sliver. Next was Number 2, a creamy white. Dab, dab, dab. This made four little white shapes at the bottom of the silver sliver. "What could it be?" she wondered, tapping her chin with her paintbrush. She painted Number 3 (inky black), Number 4 (grassy green), and Number 5 (sky blue). The picture was getting more colorful, but it still looked like a jumble of shapes. She felt a little impatient. "I want to know NOW!" she meowed. Her tail started to flick with frustration. But then she took a deep breath. "Patience, Pip," she told herself. She carefully painted the very last number, Number 6, which was a tiny spot of bright pink. She dabbed it right in the middle of the black shape. Suddenly, she saw it! The silver was a rocket ship! The white shapes were its fiery boosters! The green was the earth below, the blue was the sky above, and the black was space. And the little pink dot? It was her, Pip, looking out the window! She had painted a picture of her own great adventure into space. The surprise was worth the wait.

Coloring page Age Appropriateness

Perfect for the 3-5 age range, this design uses basic geometric shapes (circles, triangles, stars) that are easy for young children to recognize and color. The focal point is the large, simple rocket ship, which is an exciting subject for this age group. The absence of a complex background keeps the focus clear and manageable.

Coloring Page Coloring Instructions

Wow, Pip painted a rocket ship! Let's get ready for an adventure. You can make the rocket any color you want – maybe a shiny silver or a bright red? The fire coming out of the bottom could be bright orange and yellow. And look, that's Pip peeking out the window! The big space around the rocket can be a very dark blue or black, and don't forget to make the stars sparkle with a bright yellow!

Coloring Page Printing Tips

For a striking effect, print this on white cardstock. After coloring, a grown-up can help cut out the rocket shape for a fun puppet or room decoration. Use 'Best' or 'High' quality print settings to get super-sharp black lines.

Recommended Tools

This page is perfect for markers to get those bold, space-age colors. Crayons are great for the planet Earth, allowing kids to blend blue and green. For extra fun, a grown-up could add a touch of glitter glue to the stars after the coloring is finished.
