Coloring page story

Beginning: Bumper was a big, friendly, yellow school bus. He loved his job of carrying the little cars to "Car School." He was very careful and always drove slowly and safely. His motto was "Slow and steady wins the race!" and all the little cars felt safe with him.

Middle: One morning at the school playground, the little cars had built a magnificent tower of colorful blocks. It was the tallest tower ever! Bumper was so proud of them. He rolled over to get a closer look. "What a wonderful tower!" he boomed in his deep, bus-voice. He was so excited that he forgot to check his big back end. As he turned, his back bumper went wobble-wobble... BUMP! The tower shivered... and then it came crashing down. CRASH! TINKLE! CLATTER! All the beautiful blocks were scattered everywhere. The little cars gasped. Bumper froze. His engine went silent. He hadn't meant to. He felt awful.

Ending: A little tow truck started to cry. "Our tower!" he sniffled. Bumper's big grille drooped. He wanted to drive away and hide. But he knew that wasn't right. He took a big breath and said, in a very quiet voice, "I am so, so sorry. It was my mistake." He looked at all the sad little faces. "But... I know how to fix it. I have lots of room. Let's make a game of it! Everyone put a block in my door, and we'll build a new tower, even bigger than before!" The little cars looked at each other, and then they started to smile. They spent the rest of the morning working together, and the new tower was truly the best ever. Bumper learned that everyone makes mistakes, even big, careful buses. But saying sorry and helping to fix it is what turns a big mistake into a chance to be a good friend.
