Coloring page story

Beginning: Marvin was a Monster Truck, and he loved one thing more than anything else: mud. He loved the SQUISH and the SQUELCH. He loved being covered from his giant tires to his roof in gooey, brown mud. One afternoon, after playing in a giant mud puddle, he was the muddiest he had ever been. He couldn't even see out of his windshield! "Time for a wash, Marvin!" called his driver. Marvin’s engine sputtered. "A wash? No, thank you!"

Middle: Marvin did not like the car wash. It looked like a cave with big, scary monster-brushes. The sign said SWISH-O-MATIC, and Marvin heard strange sounds from inside. WHIRRRR... HISSSS... WHOOSH! "It's going to eat me!" he bellowed, trying to back away. His driver patted his dashboard. "It’s not scary, Marvin. It's just soap and water." But Marvin clamped his headlights shut. He did not want to go in. He liked being muddy! Mud was his friend!

Ending: His driver was very patient. "Okay, Marvin. Let's just watch first." They watched a little red car go through. The brushes went swish-swish-swish, and the little car came out looking shiny and happy. It looked... like the brushes were tickling it! Marvin peeked one headlight open. Tickling? Hmmm. "Okay," he rumbled nervously. "Just a little." He rolled in slowly. The first soapy roller touched his fender. It didn't hurt. It went wubba-wubba-wubba... and it tickled! Marvin let out a surprised giggle, a low chug-chug-ha-ha! The water sprayed and the big brushes swooshed, and it was like the best, most tickly back-scratch ever. He came out the other side, gleaming and clean, his engine purring with delight. The car wash wasn't a monster at all—it was a tickle machine!

Coloring page Age Appropriateness

This design is fantastic for ages 3-5. The large, simple shape of the monster truck is satisfying to color. The addition of many simple circles (bubbles) is great practice for fine motor control. The happy, giggling expression on the car helps turn a potentially scary situation (a car wash) into a positive and fun one.

Coloring Page Coloring Instructions

It's a car wash party! Marvin the Monster Truck is getting a tickly wash. Can you make him a cool color? And look at all those bubbles! You can color them all different colors of the rainbow, or make them light blue like real soap bubbles. Let's make this the most colorful, bubbly car wash ever!

Coloring Page Printing Tips

Print on slightly thicker paper if your child plans to use markers, to prevent the vibrant bubble colors from bleeding. Set your printer to 'black and white' for clean, crisp outlines that are easy to color within.

Recommended Tools

Washable markers are perfect for making the bubbles pop with bright color. For a different texture, try finger painting with washable paint inside the bubble outlines! It's a great sensory experience that fits the theme of the story perfectly.
