Coloring page story

Glimmer was a tiny silver fish with a very big curiosity. Every night, he would look up through the water and see a beautiful, shining pearl hanging in the dark sky. "I must touch the moon!" he told his family.

They all laughed. "Silly Glimmer, the moon is not in the water. It's too far away!"

But Glimmer was determined. He swam up, up, up until the water became chilly and the other fish were just tiny specks below. He reached the very top, the shimmering line between the water and the air. He poked his nose out, but the moon was still so far away, a glowing circle in the vast, empty sky.

Disappointed, he sank back down. As he drifted sadly, he looked at the surface from below. And there, floating on the ceiling of his world, was a perfect, shining, wobbly circle of light. It was the moon, reflected in the water. He swam up and danced with the beautiful water-moon, realizing that sometimes, the things we dream of are closer than we think, just in a different way.

Coloring page Age Appropriateness

The Dreamy Glow Cartoon style, adapted to line art, is excellent for 6-8 year olds. The large, simple shapes of the fish and the moon reflection are easy to color, while the flowing lines of the water encourage creative use of color. It stimulates imagination and storytelling without overwhelming fine motor skills.

Coloring Page Coloring Instructions

Let's make this picture magical! You can color the water-moon outline a bright, glowing yellow or a soft, shining white. What color is Glimmer the fish? You can make him silver with a grey crayon, or any color you can dream of! Use long, wavy strokes with your crayons or markers to color the water around him. Try to stay neatly inside the black outline strokes to make your drawing shine.

Coloring Page Printing Tips

To capture the dreamy quality, consider printing on slightly textured paper, which can add a nice effect with colored pencils. Ensure your printer is set to a high-quality black and white mode so the delicate line strokes of the water and the fish's outline are clear and not pixelated.

Recommended Tools

Colored pencils are wonderful for this page, allowing for soft blending in the water areas. Fine-tip markers can make the outlines of the moon and Glimmer very crisp and bright. Crayons are always a great, classic choice for easy coloring within the large outline shapes.
