Coloring page story
Beginning:
Stella was a sugar cookie star, covered in shimmering yellow sprinkles. Unlike the other cookies who dreamed of being dunked in milk, Stella dreamed of the sky. From the kitchen counter, she could just see the real North Star through the window, and she wanted to be up there with it. "It must be lonely," she’d whisper to the gingerbread men, who just shrugged their spicy shoulders. Her motivation was simple: she wanted to be a real star.
Middle:
When the baker, a kind grandma, left the window open just a crack to let out the steam, Stella saw her chance. She rolled right off her parchment paper—thump-a-lump—and scurried towards the cold air. The journey across the windowsill was a frozen tundra. A gust of wind—WHOOSH!—blew her right outside, and she landed in a soft pile of snow. It was colder and darker than she'd expected. The North Star seemed even farther away. A little tear, made of melted sugar, froze on her cheek. She wasn’t a star; she was just a cold, lost cookie.
End:
Just then, a little boy named Leo came out to build a snowman. He was sad because he couldn't find a star for the top of his tree inside. Then his flashlight beam fell on Stella, glittering in the snow. "Wow!" he gasped. He picked her up gently. "You're perfect!" He ran back inside, his boots crunching, CRUNCH, CRUNCH, CRUNCH. He didn't eat her. Instead, he showed his grandma, who helped him tie a golden thread to her. Leo stood on a chair and placed Stella at the very, very top of his Christmas tree. From her perch, she could see the entire room, the family singing below, and, through the window, the North Star. She wasn't in the sky, but she was the star of the whole house, and she had never felt so bright.
Coloring page Age Appropriateness
The design is perfect for 6-8 year olds with its focus on simple, geometric shapes like stars and circles. The clear separation between the tree, Stella, and the window makes it easy for children to color within the lines and understand the scene's composition.
Coloring Page Coloring Instructions
Wow, look at Stella! She made it to the top of the tree! What color will you make her? Maybe a bright, sparkly yellow or gold? You can color the Christmas tree green and the night sky a deep blue. Don't forget to color all the little stars outside the window! You can even add your own little sparkles around Stella with a glitter pen if you have one!
Coloring Page Printing Tips
Hi grown-ups! To make the stars really pop, try printing this on bright white paper. Ensure your printer settings are on a 'draft' or 'normal' black and white setting to save ink, as the bold lines will still be very clear for your little artist.
Recommended Tools
Colored pencils will be great for the smaller stars in the sky. For Stella and the tree, chunky crayons or washable markers will work beautifully. Using a yellow or silver glitter glue pen for the sparkles would be a super fun finishing touch, with a little help from a grown-up!
