Coloring page story
Beginning:
Pip was a tiny gingerbread boy, the last one cut from the dough, so he was a bit smaller than the rest. He was happily sitting on the edge of the baking sheet, waiting for his icing smile, when the baker’s son, Sam, ran through the kitchen. The table jostled—RUMBLE!—and Pip tumbled right off the edge and into Sam's open school bag. Thump! Darkness. He was a stowaway.
Middle:
The bag zipped shut. ZZZZIP! Pip was jostled and bumped on a long journey. When the bag opened again, he wasn't in his warm, spicy kitchen. He was in a classroom! It was empty and dark for the holidays. Sam had just come to get a forgotten coat. Pip rolled out of the bag and onto the floor. He was lost. The classroom was a strange land of giant desks and chairs. He felt very, very small and very, very alone. He missed the smell of his gingerbread family.
End:
He huddled by a table leg, feeling his sugary edges begin to go stale with sadness. The next morning, the janitor, Mr. Henderson, came in to clean. His broom—SWISH, SWOOSH—came closer and closer! Pip braced himself. But Mr. Henderson saw him. "Well, what have we here?" he said, his voice kind. "A little runaway." He picked Pip up carefully. Instead of throwing him away, he put him in his pocket. When Mr. Henderson went home, he told his wife, "Look what I found." His wife smiled, took out a little tube of icing, and carefully drew a perfect smile on Pip's face. They placed him in the center of their own small Christmas wreath. Pip was no longer lost. He had found a new home where he was cherished, proving that even an accidental adventure can have a very happy ending.
Coloring page Age Appropriateness
The design is excellent for 6-8 year olds. The large, repetitive shapes of the wreath (leaves, berries) are satisfying to color, while the central character, Pip, is simple and charming. It allows for a lot of color creativity within a structured, beautiful design.

Recommended Tools
Colored pencils are ideal for this page, allowing for careful coloring of the individual leaves and berries. Fine-tip markers would also work well to create bold, distinct colors. This is a great page for practicing patterns—maybe alternating colors on the berries or leaves.
