Coloring page story
Percy the Pufferfish was a very cheerful fellow. He loved to say hello to everyone. But Sheldon the Crab was always grumpy. "Go on, get away," he'd grumble from under his rock, waving a claw.
Percy didn't mind. "Good morning, Sheldon!" he’d chirp every day.
One afternoon, a big, hungry grouper swam by. It saw Sheldon scuttling in the open and its big mouth opened wide! Sheldon froze, his little legs trembling with fear.
Just as the grouper lunged, Percy zipped in between them. He took a huge gulp of water and POOF! He swelled up into a big, spiky ball. The startled grouper bumped its nose on Percy's spines. "Ouch!" it gurgled, and swam away to find an easier lunch.
Percy let out his breath and smiled his normal, cheerful smile. Sheldon the Crab scuttled over. He didn't say thank you, but he tipped his shell, which was a crab’s way of being very grateful. From then on, whenever Percy said, "Good morning, Sheldon!" the grumpy crab would always give a tiny, friendly wave back.
