Coloring page story

Leo the bunny had painted the most wonderful egg in the whole meadow. It was sunshine yellow with bright blue wobble-dots. "This one is for Mama," he whispered, his nose twitching with pride. He placed it carefully in his basket and hopped towards home. Hop, hop, WOBBLE! Leo tripped on a grumpy tree root. His basket flew, and the wobble-dot egg sailed through the air... thwump... into a patch of soft, green clover. But when Leo looked, it was gone!

His heart went thump-thump-thump against his chest. "Oh, no! My wobble-dot egg!" he cried. He searched behind the daffodils. He peeked under the buttercups. No egg. A big tear trickled down his fluffy cheek. He didn't want to tell his mama he'd lost her special present.

Just then, Mama Bunny came looking for him. "Leo, my sweet bunny, what's wrong? Your ears are all droopy." Leo’s lip quivered. "I... I lost your special egg," he sniffled. Mama Bunny wrapped him in a warm hug. "Oh, little one," she said softly. "An egg is just an egg. The love you put into it is the real gift. But let's look together." She pointed with her soft paw. "When things are lost, sometimes we just need to look from a different spot." From where she stood, they could see a tiny flash of yellow peeking from under a big, curled fern leaf. There it was! Not even a crack on it. Leo’s droopy ears perked right up. He learned that telling the truth wasn't scary, and a little help from someone you love makes any problem smaller.

Coloring page Age Appropriateness

The 'Cute Animal Cartoon' style with its round shapes and simple, friendly faces is ideal for ages 3-5. The large, distinct areas for coloring—like the bunnies' bodies, the big fern leaf, and the flowers—are perfectly suited for developing motor skills. The happy Easter theme of finding a lost treasure is easily understood and engaging for this age group.

Coloring Page Coloring Instructions

Hello, little artists! Look, it's Leo and his Mama. Can you see the special Easter egg they found? You can make Leo and his Mama any color you like! Maybe brown, or grey, or even a fun rainbow color. The big leaf that was hiding the egg would look wonderful in a bright green. And don't forget the wobble-dots on the egg! You can use your favorite colors to make them pop. The flowers in the meadow are waiting for your colors, too!

Coloring Page Printing Tips

For the best coloring experience, print this page on a sturdy paper like cardstock. This will prevent markers from bleeding through and stand up to enthusiastic crayon coloring. Use your printer's 'standard' or 'high' quality setting to ensure the black lines are crisp and clear, making this Easter activity even more fun.

Recommended Tools

Chunky crayons are perfect for little hands to grip and color the large areas. Washable markers are a great choice for vibrant colors and easy cleanup. Large, soft-leaded colored pencils can also be used for children who are developing a finer grip. Always supervise use of art supplies.
