Coloring page story

The Easter preparations were in full fluff! Barnaby Bear was carrying heavy baskets. Squeaky Squirrel was painting big, bold stripes on the goose eggs. Pippa the Chick watched with her little black eyes. She wanted to help more than anything, but her wings were too tiny to carry a basket, and her beak was too small to hold a big paintbrush. "I'm just too little," she chirped sadly, kicking a pebble.

She tried to help Barnaby, but the basket just tipped over. Clunk! She tried to help Squeaky, but she ended up with more green paint on her own downy feathers than on the egg. Splat! Feeling very useless, she sat by the berry bush. That’s when she saw it: a tiny, forgotten jelly bean on the ground. An idea sparked in her little head.

Peck, peck, peck! Using her beak like a tiny artist's tool, she carefully painted a smiley face on the jelly bean with a drop of dew and some pollen. Then she did another, and another! Soon, she had a whole family of colorful, smiling jelly bean "eggs." When the other animals saw them, they gasped. "Pippa!" exclaimed Barnaby. "They're like tiny jewels!" They decided to use Pippa's creations as "egg sprinkles," hiding them in flower petals and blades of grass for the littlest creatures to find. Pippa puffed out her chest, full of joy. She learned that even the smallest chick can have the biggest and brightest ideas.

Coloring page Age Appropriateness

The Chibi style, with its exaggerated cuteness and large heads, is highly appealing to children aged 3-5. The characters' emotions—Pippa's pride and her friends' wonder—are very clear and easy for a young child to interpret. The large, simple shapes of the bear, squirrel, and chick are perfect for little hands that are still mastering coloring within the lines. The Easter theme of decorating tiny 'eggs' is playful and fun.

Coloring Page Coloring Instructions

Wow, look at what Pippa made! She's so proud. Let's make her a sunny, happy yellow! What color do you think the big, friendly bear should be? Brown, or maybe a silly purple? You can make the squirrel's paintbrush any color you want. And for the tiny jelly bean eggs at Pippa's feet, you can use all the colors of the rainbow to make them extra special! Have fun making this happy Easter picture bright and beautiful.

Coloring Page Printing Tips

To best capture the bold lines of this cartoon style, print on smooth, white paper using your printer's 'best' quality setting. Thicker paper is recommended if your child will be using markers, ensuring their vibrant Easter creation stays neat and tidy.

Recommended Tools

Washable markers will make the characters pop with vibrant color. For a softer look, twistable crayons are a great, no-mess option. Dot markers could be a fun way to color in the jelly beans or add spots to the background. These tools are all excellent for the target age group.
