Coloring page story

Character: Pip was the youngest and smallest turkey on the farm. He was curious and determined, but often felt too little to be of any real help.

Beginning: It was the night for the big event: lighting the farm's giant outdoor Christmas tree. But there was a problem! The shiny, golden star for the very top was missing from its box. “Oh dear!” cried Mrs. Farmer. “We can’t light the tree without its star!” Everyone scurried around, looking under benches and behind barrels, but the star was nowhere to be found.

Middle: Pip wanted to help, but everyone was so much bigger. He couldn’t see over the big piles of snow. “I’m too small to find it,” he chirped sadly. Just then, he noticed something no one else had: a flash of gold near the chicken coop. Because he was so low to the ground, he could see a thin, glittery trail in the snow. He followed the trail, his little heart beating fast. Pitter-patter, pitter-patter. The trail led right up to a magpie’s nest, high in an old oak tree. And there, tucked among the twigs, was the beautiful golden star! The magpie had mistaken it for a shiny toy.

Ending: But how could Pip get it down? He couldn't fly that high. He let out a series of loud, insistent peep-peep-PEEPS! Farmer Giles heard the noise and came over. “What is it, little fella?” he asked. Pip looked from the farmer to the nest and back again, peeping with all his might. The farmer looked up. “Well, I’ll be!” he exclaimed. He got a long ladder and carefully retrieved the star. He knelt down and patted Pip’s head. “You did it, Pip! Your sharp little eyes saved the day.” Pip puffed out his chest. That night, when the giant tree was lit, he knew that even the smallest one on the farm could be the biggest hero.

Coloring page Age Appropriateness

The 'Miniature Cartoon' style visually reinforces the story's theme—that a small character can do big things. The contrast in size is easy for a 3-5 year old to grasp and find charming. The drawing uses very simple shapes and has a clear emotional focus, making it an engaging and achievable coloring task.

Coloring Page Printing Tips

Recommended Tools

A mix of tools works well here. Chunky crayons for the farmer's large clothes and the background, and a colored pencil or fine-tipped marker for carefully coloring the small but heroic christmas turkey and the points of the star.
