Coloring page story

Lulu Loops loved her squirting flower. But on the hottest day of Clown Week, the flower refused to squirt. It just drooped. Lulu felt sad. "My flower has lost its giggle-juice," she said.

Pip whispered to the flower, "Don't you want to make someone laugh?" The flower drooped more.

Professor Boffo had a thought. "Maybe it doesn't want to squirt water. Maybe it's thirsty for something else." He leaned in and told the flower a very silly joke. (Whisper a silly secret to your hand.)

The Twist: The flower perked right up! It shook with laughter and then... SQUIRT! It didn't squirt water. It squirted cool, sweet lemonade for everyone to drink! It wasn't thirsty for water; it was thirsty for jokes.

Coloring page Age Appropriateness

The personification of the flower is enchanting for children aged 3-5. The cause-and-effect story (a joke leads to lemonade) is simple and satisfying. The drawing's clear focal point and minimal background help young children concentrate on the main action. The large, flowing line of 'lemonade' is also fun to trace and color.

Coloring Page Coloring Instructions

This flower is laughing so hard, it's squirting lemonade! How silly! Let's color the stream of lemonade a yummy yellow. What color is a happy, laughing flower? You can make its petals any color you like. And let's give the clowns colorful clothes to wear to their lemonade party!

Coloring Page Printing Tips

Print this on standard paper. It's a great conversation starter! Ask your child, 'If you could tell a flower a joke, what would it be?' This adds a layer of imaginative play to the International Clown Week activity.

Recommended Tools

Thick washable markers would be perfect for the stream of lemonade and the flower's face, making them stand out. Crayons can be used for the clowns' costumes and hair, allowing for softer textures. This mix of tools adds visual interest.
