Coloring page story

Ellie the elephant was very big. Stomp, stomp, stomp went her big feet. All the little animals would hide when she came by. This made Ellie feel sad.

One day, a tiny yellow bird named Pip landed on a branch right above her. Pip was too scared to sing.

Ellie wanted to say hello, but she knew her voice was a big, loud PARRROOOOT! That would scare Pip for sure. So, she did something special. She lifted her long trunk, very, very slowly, up to the branch. She blew the tiniest, softest puff of air. It sounded like a little whisper: whooosh.

The whisper tickled Pip’s feathers! He giggled a tiny "tweet-hee-hee!"

Ellie did it again, a gentle whooosh. Pip hopped onto her trunk, not scared at all. From that day on, Ellie the big elephant and Pip the tiny bird were the best of friends. Ellie would give Pip tickly whispers, and Pip would sing her the sweetest songs.

Coloring page Age Appropriateness

The design is ideal for ages 3-5. The use of large, simple shapes and thick outlines from the 'Round & Soft Cartoon' style helps young children develop hand-eye coordination and fine motor control without the frustration of tiny, complex details. The theme of a big, gentle elephant making a small friend is easily understood and emotionally resonant for this age group.

Coloring Page Coloring Instructions

Hello little artists! Look at sweet Ellie the elephant and her tiny friend, Pip. You can give Ellie any color you like! Maybe she's a pretty grey, a rainbow color, or even pink! Use your favorite crayon to color in her big body and long trunk. Don't forget to give her a colorful ear! Then, you can choose a bright color for the little bird, Pip. The big spaces are perfect for your crayons to move around in. Have fun making these two friends bright and happy!

Coloring Page Printing Tips

For best results, print this page on medium to heavy-weight paper, like cardstock. This will prevent markers from bleeding through and stand up to enthusiastic crayon coloring. Use your printer's standard or 'high quality' black and white setting to ensure the elephant's outlines are crisp and clear.

Recommended Tools

Large, chunky crayons are perfect for little hands and big spaces. Washable markers are also a great choice for vibrant colors. For a softer look, colored pencils work well, but ensure your child can apply enough pressure. Always supervise young children with art supplies.
