Coloring page story

Lily the Rabbit had a brand-new coat. It was the colour of dandelions. And it had five shiny, round, blue buttons. One, two, three, four... oh dear. Where was number five?

A little tear rolled down Lily’s nose. Her favourite button was gone!

She looked under a leaf. She looked behind a mushroom. Just then, Squeaky the Mouse scampered by. "What's wrong, Lily?" he chirped.

"My blue button is lost!" she sniffled.

Squeaky’s little nose twitched. He pointed a tiny claw. "Is it that shiny blue stone by the pebble?"

Lily looked. It wasn't a stone! It was her button, winking in the sun. She gave Squeaky a big hug. The button was small, but her happiness was big.

Coloring page Age Appropriateness

This design is perfectly suited for 3-5 year olds. The characters and objects are drawn with very simple, round shapes, which are easy for developing hands to color. The narrative moment is clear and positive, and the lack of complex background details allows children to focus on the main characters and the simple story.

Coloring Page Coloring Instructions

Oh, look! Squeaky found Lily's lost button! Let's make them look extra happy by giving them some color. You can color Lily's new coat. What color do you think it is? And what about her little friend, Squeaky? Remember to try your best to stay inside the big, dark lines. It's so much fun to fill in all the empty white spaces!

Coloring Page Printing Tips

Print on standard A4 or Letter-sized paper. If using markers, a slightly thicker paper will prevent bleed-through. Ensure your printer settings are on a high-contrast black and white mode to make the outlines pop, making it easier for your child to see the simple coloring areas.

Recommended Tools

Colored pencils are great for this page as they allow for more control when coloring smaller areas like the button or Squeaky the Mouse. For a bolder look, washable fine-tip markers can be used. Both tools help children practice their grip and control within the simple, clear line strokes.
