Coloring page story
In the snuggliest, sparkliest corner of Santa's workshop lived Pip Squeak, the tiniest elf of all. He was no bigger than a gingerbread cookie! While other elves lifted big wooden train cars and painted tall rocking horses, Pip’s job was to polish the tiny silver bells on the reindeer's harnesses. Tinkle, tinkle, shine! But Pip wished he could do a big, important job. “I’m too small,” he’d sigh, his little hat drooping.
One afternoon, Barnaby Buttons, the head teddy bear maker, cried out, “Oh, jingle bells!” A very special bear, Bartholomew, was ready. He was soft and cuddly, but he was missing his special jingle! Barnaby had accidentally dropped the tiny jingle bell inside the bear while stuffing it. Shake, shake, shake. They could hear it rattling deep inside, but the hole was stitched tight. “We can’t unstitch him now!” Barnaby worried. “He won’t be ready for the sleigh!” All the big elves tried to wiggle a finger in the seam to find it, but their fingers were too big. Pip watched, his little heart thumping. He saw a tiny, forgotten seam on the bear’s paw, just big enough for... him.
“Maybe… maybe I can help?” Pip squeaked. Barnaby looked down. “You, Pip?” Pip took a deep breath. “I’m very small.” Carefully, Barnaby held the bear steady while Pip wriggled and squiggled through the tiny seam in the paw. Inside, it was a fluffy, white wonderland! He followed the tinkle-tattle sound and found the bell! He pushed it all the way up to the bear’s chest where it belonged. When he wiggled back out, all the elves cheered! Santa Claus himself came over. “Pip Squeak,” he boomed with a smile, “you have shown us that it’s not about being big. It’s about having a big heart and being the perfect fit for the job.” Pip puffed out his chest. He still polished the tiny bells, but now he knew his job was just as important as any other.
