Coloring page story
Wander was a daydreamer. While the other snowflakes planned their descent, he was busy watching the moon play peek-a-boo with the clouds. So when the Great Tumble began, he wasn't quite ready. A huge, blustery gust of wind separated him from everyone else, sending him spinning far away from the sparkling town and towards a dark, quiet field.
He landed all alone on a splintered wooden windowsill of an old, dark barn. It was quiet, except for the sound of gentle breathing. He felt very small and very lost. "Hello?" he whispered, his voice trembling. From the shadows, a large, gentle eye blinked open. It belonged to an old donkey. "Well now," the donkey said, his voice slow and warm. "Aren't you a bit off course, little fellow?" Wander explained he was lost and scared. The donkey smiled a wise, weary smile. "Don't you worry. This old barn is a good place to be on a night like this. It reminds me of another very special night, long ago, when a bright star shone right above this roof."
The donkey told Wander a story about a different family, a different baby, and a barn that became the warmest, most wonderful place in the world. As he talked, the donkey's warm breath washed over Wander, keeping him from feeling the lonely cold. Through a crack in the barn wall, Wander could see the town lights, but he no longer felt lost. He had stumbled into a place filled with the quiet, gentle spirit of the very first Christmas. He learned that even when you feel lost, you can find kindness and a beautiful story waiting for you.
Coloring page Age Appropriateness
The 'Cozy Tone' style, translated into line art, creates a feeling of safety and warmth that is reassuring for children 6-8. The large, simple characters (donkey and snowflake) and the structured background (wooden planks) make coloring manageable and rewarding.
