Coloring page story
"I'm not going," Drift announced, folding his icy arms. His cloud was comfortable, warm (in a snowy sort of way), and familiar. The idea of falling into the big, unknown world below seemed like a lot of bother. "Hmph," he said to anyone who would listen. "Sounds cold and pointless."
Despite his protests, the wind came for him just like everyone else. "No, no, no!" he grumbled as he was tossed from his cozy bed. He fell with a frown, determined to have a terrible time. "Bumpy ride," he muttered. "Too bright," he complained as he passed a streetlamp. He saw children making snow angels and thought, "How messy." He was aiming for a dark, boring patch of pavement when he was suddenly knocked off course.
He landed on something wet, black, and wiggly. It was the nose of a golden retriever who was running in joyful circles, trying to catch snowflakes on its tongue. SLURP! The dog's big, warm tongue swiped right over Drift, but missed him. Woof! The dog barked with pure happiness. Drift was bounced up and down as the dog leapt and played. He couldn't help it. A tiny corner of one of his icy arms curled up into a smile. This... this was actually fun! Forgetting all about being grumpy, Drift let himself be bounced around, a tiny, sparkling passenger on a ride of pure Christmas joy.
Coloring page Age Appropriateness
The 'Cute Animal Cartoon' style is universally appealing to kids 6-8. The large, dynamic pose of the dog is exciting to color, and the clear, simple shapes of both the dog and the snowflakes are perfect for their skill level.
