Coloring page story

Fletcher the Fox was thirsty. He found a big puddle. Slurp, slurp. Delicious! He looked down and saw another fox in the water, looking right back at him!

He jumped back! The other fox was gone. He peeked over the edge again. There it was! He waved a paw. The water fox waved back! "Who are you?" Fletcher asked. The water fox opened its mouth but said nothing.

Fletcher was curious. Why is there a fox in the water? He touched the water with his nose. Boop! The water fox's nose got all wiggly and disappeared in ripples. Wiggle, wiggle, splash!

The Twist: He looked up at the sky. The sun was bright. He looked back at the puddle. He saw the sky in the puddle, too! "Aha!" he yipped. "The puddle is like a seeing-glass! It's not another fox, it's ME!" He made a silly face, and his reflection made a silly face back.

Coloring page Age Appropriateness

The simple line art style and uncluttered composition are ideal for the 3-5 age group. The concept is presented visually and simply. The large shapes of the Fox, his reflection, and the puddle are easy for developing motor skills to handle, preventing frustration and encouraging focus on the fun discovery.

Coloring Page Coloring Instructions

Let's be scientists with Fletcher the Fox! He's making a silly face at himself in the water. You can color the real Fletcher a bright orange. Then, for the fox in the water, you could use a lighter orange or maybe a fun blue to show he's a reflection! Don't forget to color the big, round puddle and the happy sun in the sky. It's so much fun to color this silly Fox!

Coloring Page Printing Tips

Print on regular printer paper for easy, everyday coloring fun. The bold lines will show up perfectly. After coloring, you can take a spoon and show your child their own silly reflection, connecting the Fox's discovery to their own world!

Recommended Tools

Washable markers are great for making the puddle a solid, vibrant blue. Crayons work perfectly for the fox and the sun. This is a great opportunity to talk about 'real' and 'reflection' while you color together.
