Coloring page story

Woody the wooden reindeer hung on a low branch, watching the snow fall outside. "Oh," he sighed, a tiny sigh no human could hear. "I wish I could feel the snow." Every year, for one magical hour on Christmas Eve, he could move. The clock began to chime midnight. Bong... bong... Woody felt a tingle in his wooden legs. He was alive! He carefully wiggled off his hook—plop—onto the soft rug. He wanted to see the snow, just for a minute. He trotted to the cat-flap and pushed his way out into a world of silent, white magic. Gasp! It was cold! It was soft! It was wonderful! He kicked his heels and made tiny reindeer tracks in the fresh powder. But as he pranced, his wobbly leg gave way, and he tumbled head-over-hoof into a deep snowdrift. He was stuck! The magic was already starting to fade. His legs felt stiff. "Oh, no," he thought. "I'll be a lost toy forever!" Just then, the family's old, sleepy Golden Retriever, Gus, padded outside. He sniffed the air, then lowered his big, wet nose to the snowdrift. Sniff, sniff, SNEEZE! The snow flew everywhere, revealing Woody. Gus gently picked Woody up in his soft mouth and carried him back inside, dropping him right under the tree just as the last chime of midnight faded. When the children woke up, they found Woody under the tree. "How did Woody get down here?" they wondered. "And why is he covered in sparkly snow?" Woody couldn't tell them, but he held the secret of his magical ride, a happy adventure that ended safely at home.

Coloring Page Coloring Instructions

Shhh, it's a midnight secret! Gus the dog is saving Woody the reindeer. Let's color them in. You can make Gus a lovely golden yellow or brown. Woody is a wooden reindeer, so he could be a light brown color. The snow can be left white, or you can add some pretty blue or purple shadows. Don't forget to make the window in the house a warm, glowing yellow to show it's cozy inside!

Coloring Page Printing Tips
