Coloring page story
Wiggles the Caterpillar was always in a hurry. He munched leaves faster than anyone. Munch, munch, munch, gulp! He scurried along branches quicker than all his brothers and sisters. Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, zoom!
He saw the beautiful butterflies fluttering in the sky and he wanted to be one, too. "Am I a butterfly yet?" he asked a sleepy ladybug.
"Not yet, little one," she said. "Good things take time."
Wiggles huffed. He didn't want to wait. He wiggled to a new leaf. "Am I a butterfly NOW?" he asked a busy bee.
"Not yet," buzzed the bee. "Patience, little fellow."
Wiggles felt so fidgety and impatient. He wiggled and squirmed so much that he started to feel very, very tired. He found a sturdy twig and, without even thinking, began to spin a soft, silky blanket all around himself. It was so cozy. Maybe just a short rest, he thought. He closed his eyes and fell fast asleep inside his chrysalis.
He dreamed of munching and wiggling. When he finally woke up, he felt different. He felt... stretched. He pushed and wiggled, and POP! his cozy blanket opened. Two bright, colourful things unfolded from his back. They were wings! He was a butterfly! He floated into the air, dancing on the breeze. He finally understood. The waiting wasn't a punishment; it was the time he needed to grow into something wonderful.
